I am looking for settings that meet my needs

Hi there

I'm in despair now. I am looking for settings in OBS that give me a satisfactory result.

When I try to record hardware-hungry games, I just don't get a satisfactory recording. With settings with good image quality, the video is stuttering or not at a constant 60 FPS (even if the game itself manages the 60 FPS constantly). With settings with smooth video, however, I then have artifacts in the picture - especially in dark areas.

I'm looking for settings for OBS, where I can record a constant 60 FPS at 1080p, where the image quality is as lossless as possible and where the hardware is loaded as little as possible.

The file size that comes out in the end is secondary. If 10 minutes are 100 gigabytes, then that's the way it is. I have a 2TB M.2 SSD that is almost empty.

Can someone help me there?

System:
MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super GAMING Z TRIO
Intel I5 8600K
16 gig (2x8) G.Skill Ripjaws 4
2 TB Corsair Force Series MP510 M.2 SSD

First, to reset any possible misconfiguration, create a new profile by Profile->New
Then do in Settings->Output
- Output mode->Simple (should be default)
- Recording Quality: Indistinguishable Quality
- Encoder (becomes visible as soon as you set the recording quality): Hardware (nvenc)
In Settings->Video:
- adjust base and output resolution, as well as fps

If this is giving you encoder overload and/or stuttering video, try running OBS as admin and see https://obsproject.com/wiki/General-Performance-and-Encoding-Issues
