I know the title makes me seem like I don't know anything, and when it comes to OBS, I really don't. The problem I've been having is after I record and go to watch a video, it seems to stop a lot. Like I'll see a frame for a long time (3-4 seconds) and then a new frame for a long time (another 3-4 seconds). I just got a nice new PC so I'm fairly certain it's not my computer itself, I just don't know which settings. Take time in replying, I have no need to record atm.

I think this is what you wanted. If you had no hands, you would have no fingers and if you could count them then there are zero good reasons to stop saving directly to mp4. I don't know what you mean, but I use mp4, is that part of my problem?

The log you provided shows no attempt to record.

It just shows you having display and game capture sources in the same scene which you should NOT be doing. Remove the display capture source.

And get a log showing a full recording attempt.

There are precisely ZERO good reasons to save directly to mp4. Save to FLV or MKV.

Thank you, Harold! I'll see how that works next time I record, I have this bookmarked so I'll know what to do later. Can FLV or MKV be uploaded to youtube without changing it?

There are precisely ZERO reasons to save directly to mp4.
Save to FLV or MKV and use the remux function in OBS' file menu to convert IF YOU NEED IT.

Change your settings to be as follows:

Remove display capture sources from ALL scenes where you use game capture sources.

Settings - Output
Output mode: Simple
Recording quality: Indistinguishable
Recording format: FLV
Recording encoder: Software (x264, low cpu usage preset, increased file size)

And use VLC to check your recordings.
