Hud?

When I start recording agame, is there a way to get an indication on the screen? A HUD (for want of a better word)? I've been through the settings and don't see one.

Because of the nature how rendering and capturing works, it is not recommended to overlay the program running exclusive fullscreen with any data.

For "fullscreen" running as "borderless window" there are scripts/programs that placing custom semi-transparent window atop the game (look for "OBS-HUD" tool, "Recording Notification" script to get how it works if this is suitable solution for you).

Possible workaround(s): second display device; audio confirmation; network message from OBS to smartphone (or other device). The sound notification and other methods can be found in the resources (plugins, tools, scripts) section of the forum - https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/

Also, it is possible to customize RivaTuner overlay with custom themes and pictures that can be modified on some signal from OBS but the application itself is on the list that is not recommended for use with OBS - https://obsproject.com/kb/known-conflicts
