In the legacy OBS we had an option to stream and save the file at the end of the stream. With OBS studio, should i click stream and record to record the file?

Yes. Just click Start Streaming and Start Recording.
You can also assign the same hotkey to Start Streaming and Start Recording so that when you press the hotkey it will start both.

I think you can add - clicking + - as a second alternative hotkey for streaming the same hotkey assigned for recording. This will cause recording hotkey to start streaming too.
(I have not tested, but I think this is a good solution)
