How to set 9:16 aspect ratio in Resolution in OBS?

I'm trying to set up OBS to stream to multiple platforms via Livepush. I'm working with Streamon for streaming to Instagram. Question - the tutorials suggest that I set OBS base resolution to 9:16 aspect ration so my stream will look good on cell phones, yet that is not offered in the dropdowns on OBS. Only 1920 x1080, with output 1096x 616 is offered, and similar. How can I change that to 720 x 1280? I found that I can manually type 9:16 into the Base Resolution. What settings do you recommend for Output Resolution, Downscale Filter and FPS Values to make it work well? Thank you!

Please follow these steps:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select videos
3. Change the Base (Canvas) Resolution from 1920 x 1080 to 1080 x 1920

I know this thread is a few months old, but I'm going to leave my 2 cents here... This answer was very helpful, but in the Stream tab I also had to click the box to "Ignore streaming service setting recommendations" in order to be able to change the output resolution to vertical 9x16 for Facebook Live streaming. If I did not check that box, it was locked at 16x9 horizontal.

mahalos for answering this . like alot of things it is a checked box that solves it, not very complex . no one mentions this in the many vid and written tutorials i saw . i guess its sorta an insider thing that is related to these folkx so fast that they dont even think to mention, even if it is critical to do so . maybe as well at times like with other stuff, subconciously since they struggled they dont think it is bad for others to struggle
