how to save OBS settings before updating

Hello
Just noticed a new update has been released.
How do I save my settings including the Move transition app? I have everthing set up as I need them and dont want to lose stuff,like before

Was "before" across the v27/v28 boundary? That did break a lot of things without warning, because it changed the graphics framework from Qt5 to Qt6. A lot of plugins failed to load because of the graphics change, so when OBS closed for the first time after that and overwrote the settings file, it didn't include them. At *that* point, the previous settings were gone.

If you're entirely *after* that boundary now, you should be fine. But it would still be good to backup the settings folder. Unfortunately, I don't know where it is on Windows. Someone else will probably chime in soon and provide that. On Linux, it's /home/<username>/.config/obs-studio/
