Question / Help How to run Eurotruck Simulator while also running OBS on PC?

I would like to stream ETS via OBS but can't figure out how to run them simultaneously. I use a game controller for ETS, but the game still takes over my mouse. I have to alt tab out of ETS to control OBS which means I can't play ETS until I alt tab back into the game.

Is there anyway to play ETS and also control OBS with my mouse, at the same time?

Seems like a common problem, but can't seem to find an easy answer. Thanks for the help!

It seems your game is running in exclusive fullscreen mode. Exclusive fullscreen games minimize themselves if you alt-tab out. You need to run your game windowed to allow it running on the Windows desktop along with other apps like OBS.
Look into the graphics settings of the game and look for "windowed fullscreen" or "windowed borderless" or plain "windowed" setting. Best would be windowed fullscreen, because in this case the game is running the same resolution as exclusive fullscreen. Now set up OBS as you like.
As soon as you are satisfied, you can switch back to exclusive fullscreen mode and control OBS with hotkeys (Settings->Hotkeys) to start/stop recording. You can also first start recording with the mouse, then switch to your fullscreen game. Make sure you're running your game with the same resolution as the Windows desktop resolution.

I have been struggling with this problem for weeks. The only option in ETS2 for windowed mode is to untick Fullscreen Mode. You still have to use Alt+Tab! As soon as I leave OBS and start the game there is no way back to OBS. I'm 72 years old and this is all new to me. I was hoping to live stream ETS2 on YouTube. So being new to OBS and having this cursor problem with ETS2 after weeks of trying it doesn't seem likely. I've watched hours of how to videos on YouTube and still have no clue how to actually stream the game and use OBS but that itself is impossible I find with ETS2. I can find it on Game Capture but if I come out of OBS to start it there's no way back to OBS!! Maybe I'm just too old! Lol!

I'm not quite clear what you do with the scenes and the sources. Then what? Do you run the game from your desktop or from the OBS Studio. I give up! Is there anybody out there I can pay to show me how to do live stream gaming with OBS? I'm just going round in circles on here and YouTube. I have been live streaming with Streamyard but not live gaming.
