How to record audio with earbuds

So I use earbuds on my MacBook and that doesn't allow obs to record audio, is there a work around for this or am I screwed.

not sure I understand, but go to your audio properties and choose whatever input you want. Be it the earbuds, or some other external source.

Thats the problem it only let's me set to external but it won't record ingame audio if its external
