Question / Help how to prevent external noise from appearing in recordings?

I was wondering if you could let me know how to prevent background noise e.g .within the room appearing in recording from computer?

You can use a noise suppressor or noise gate (or both) when you go into the "filter" section of your mic.

Short answer is to remove the background noise.

You can also try the noise suppression or noise gate filters in OBS, but they are not perfect.

Best solution is to remove the background noise, or look into a better quality microphone.

I would like to remove ALL background noise as I would like only the recording from the laptop to be heard

I think you're misunderstanding me. When I'm saying "remove the background noise" I mean make the room that you're recording in have less background noise in the first place, not something in OBS.

For example, if you have a fan on? Turn it off. Keep your mic away from loud noises such as your laptop's fans, your keyboard, etc.

There's no magic button you can press that will remove all the background noise from your stream/recording, that's just impossible.

Just looking for a solution to canceling background noise when I came across an App called "Krisp". I am not sure how effective it will be with OBS, but was informed that it works with OBS. You can try it.
