How to only use OBS for mic audio adjustment and feed it to Zoom

Hi all

I am trying to figure out how to use OBS to adjust the mic sound (noise compressor etc) and feed it to zoom when meeting with students.

I am not able to figure that out while I watched many tutorials online.

Does anybody have a good link / tutorial for this?

We dont want to record or stream with OBS just use it to adjust the audio.

OBS isn't the appropriate tool for this application. OBS does not have an audio-out function aside from streaming or recording.

I'd recommend looking at Voicemeeter Banana; it's free audio-adjustment and routing software, and allows the use of filters like compressors and expanders.

Actually I just figured it out.

I was doing everything right with setting up audio input and output (monitor via VB Cables)
But I did not know that in advanced Audio settings I needed to turn on Monitor and Output to send then the audio also to the VB Cable.

I agree with you that this is abusing OBS a little but since it is mac and pc it is a better alternative than VMB which is only windows.
I think VMB also has no noise reduction in it if I am mistaken.

Universities mainly buy cheaper mics / headsets for faculty because of Covid-19 so we need to improve this a little.
