How to mute the desktop audio?

I would like to mute the desktop audio. I don't mean make it unheard in streaming or recording. I want to not hear it. At least while I am trying to learn the software.

Also, is there a way to fix my user name?

OK. It was a stupid question. The first one, that is. The sound wasn't from OBS. It was from Flight Sym. I didn't know it had started. I know, I know. Now all I have to do is fix my user name.

In OBS Settings - Audio, you can disable some of the global audio inputs. Whether that is what you should do or not depends on your circumstances. For my non-game streaming, I've disabled all the Global Audio inputs, and have specific Audio Source Inputs per scene
