Question / Help How to monitor the stream on a physical screen ?

Hi every one,

I have a setup quite efficient so far, 3 cams, with blackmagic design card on a i5 Win10 PC with a GTX 1050 GC. I work with 2 screens at home, and when i go to the games and tournament, i just take one screen. So far, so good.

In two months, i'll have the opportunity to be in a place where there are 4 large screens in the stadium. It would be nice to have what i stream on these screens, without too much delay... I guess that i can connect the system via HDMI, so, so physical, technical side doesn't seem to be an issue.

My problem is "how can i send my stream on these screens", as i don't see how to... Is it possible ?

I hope my question is clear enough ... ;)

If you are connected to such a screen with hdmi, it shows up as regular monitor on your PC/Laptop. You can use it as regular Windows monitor, and OBS is able to use them with its projector feature. Right-click the OBS preview, or a scene, or a source, and notice the "Fullscreen Projector" menu item. Choose one of these and cast the preview/scene/source onto the monitor you choose. This works without streaming, you just cast a preview of that item onto that monitor. One nice thing is, that if you have multiple scenes and multiple monitors connected, you can preview as many scenes as you have monitors - not only the active scene as with streaming.

Thank You very much for these answers, it's exactly what i want ! :)

Is there a way to exclude a source from the projector ? For example, i have a webcam that is used during haltime, but i'd like it to be visible in the stream, but not on the projector... Do i have to create a separate scene, or can i just exclude the source form the projection ?

You need to create a separate scene. Use tools like source groups and adding a scene as a source to build and organize your scenes.

For example, you can create a scene you intend to use with the projector without that webcam source. Group all the sources in that scene. Then create a second scene, intended for streaming, and add the group to the second scene (in the dialog for adding groups, use the "add existing" option). In the second scene, in addition to the group, add your webcam source. Now you have the setup you described.
And it's easy to manage, because everything you change within the group is reflected in both scenes. And everything you change outside of the group is reflected only in the scene where you actually make the change.
