I have a professional green screen, so I'm perfectly able to project myself in OBS against any background, using the Chroma Key filter.
However. I would like to record with a transparent background (like the checkerboard in a transparent PNG), so that I can use the recording in a video editor, which would allow me to edit the backgrounds in the video editor. However, when I record under Chroma Key in OBS, without any background in the "sources" activated, the background is not transparent but black.
The chroma key filter in OBS is the best open source chroma key filter in the world, so I want to do the chroma keying in OBS, not in the video editor. The solution that sees me export the video with a green background to the video editor, and do the chroma keying there, therefore is not what I'm looking for.
