How to hear OBS Audio when you can only have one Monitoring Device and a guest

So my buddy and I make Youtube videos for fun, we were using streamyard but decided to make the switch. Here is my problem, to get him into my OBS feed for video and audio we use OBS.Ninja, we add his camera and I use a browser source to get him into the OBS feed. We then start a room where I am the director and I use the OBS virtual Audio camera so he can see the stream as a guest. The issue is he couldn't hear any sound effects or videos within the obs stream. I did some research and downloaded the VB audio cables, now for audio in the create a room option in OBS.Ninja, we choose the Virtual audio cable and within OBS under Audio-Advanced- the Monitoring Device is set to Cable Input (VB- Audio Virtual Cable). Now he can see and hear everything within the obs stream however I can only hear him. There is no second monitoring device allowed. I use Airpods to listen to the stream and Blue Yeti to speak, Other than letting the sound come through my desktop and creating a massive echo I have no other solutions. Any help would be appreciated
