Hello! I've been looking around and messing about with OBS for quite a while.
I own a laptop, and it seems like me and my friend have the same issue.
The issue - when using OBS at all, recording or not, the GPU 0 (Intel HD graphics) ramps up to 30-40% usage, even with Preview disabled. I've tried using "--disable-gpu" flags and the other flag suggested, nothing seems to work.
It affects performance in a big way, even when gaming on the dedicated GPU, the frame rate drops by half when the iGPU becomes over saturated.
My spec:
Intel Core i7 4700MQ 3.4Ghz (3.6Ghz Turbo) w/ HD 4600 (switchable graphics)
AMD Radeon HD 8970M 4GB GDDR5
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
Samsung 850 Evo
WD Black 750GB
His spec:
Intel Core i7 6700HQ w/ HD 530 (switchable graphics)
Nvidia GTX 950M
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
1TB Seagate
Am using software X264 (CPU only), does not help the iGPU usage, major performance hit.
Tried using another recording software and this did not repeat itself, same goes with FRAPS, it does not affect iGPU performance.
Kind of at a loss for what to do in this scenario, we've been trying to figure out what to do but, so far no luck.
Thanks for reading!
