How to distinguish soures pasted by reference from sources pasted by duplication?

Hi.

I understand both types of paste. The point is, after having pasted the sources, how do we distinguish one type from the other?

By reference, modifying one source in one scene modifies in the other scenes the reference points to (and vice-versa). By duplication, every source is independent. It means we may get into trouble if we modify a referenced source thinking it is a duplicated source.

After having pastes both types or sources, how can we know which type is each source? Is there any indication?

Thanks

All references have exactly the same name as the source. They all are the source.
All duplicates are their own, so they have distinct names. They get created with a number appended to make them a unique name.
