how to create a scroller at bottom during group zoom

So, I am hosting a live participatory reading of a story via zoom. Ideally I'd like the text of the story to show up like a lower third while all the participants can see it and each other. I have tried it with both the text function and the image slideshow function. The imagine slideshow function seemed to work best. (But IDK) But when I connect my zoom to OBS i see only the image slide show along the bottom of the screen, even though the images are not full screen images. (I intentionally chose narrow "lower third" type images to test this). What I see on the zoom screen is black on most of the screen + the image slideshow at the bottom.

Is there a way to accomplish what I am trying to accomplish using OBS?

Do you have your webcam added as a source behind the images in your OBS scene? If not, you'll only get the images.
