Question / Help How to change input format and/or profile setting

So while I've been trying to get help on here for my El Gato auto crashing OBS and studio, I've also been getting help from El Gato support. After a bit of back and forth on their end, and "just drop $200 on a black magic and hope your graphics card doesn't cover up the other PCIE slots after that," on here. I've been told to try this:

"Our developers have seen this before with imagescaler.dll, Try with a different input format. Something else you can do is to open our control panel in OBS, with no signal/video source attached to the Elgato Game Capture HD60 so OBS won't crash, then change the profile setting to 1080."

Unfortunately, I don't quite understand how I might change the input format, nor change the profile setting to 1080. In regards to the second option, it seems like there might be a misunderstanding in that if I need to have it as a source and change a setting, then I won't be able to due to OBS crashing as soon as El Gato gets set as a source.

Would appreciate help with what the El Gato support staff means.

I believe they were referring to settings in El Gato's program, and it didn't help, OBS still crashes when my El Gato HD 60 is set as a source. Also for OBS support staff: event logs sent to El Gato seem to have resulted in them picking this out as a possible cause "Faulting application name: obs64.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x58be24b4
Faulting module name: mc_trans_video_imagescaler.dll, version: 9.11.13.4984, time stamp: 0x551493e8
Exception code: 0xc0000005"

Is this .dll file from the Adobe suit? You can try ti uninstall it completely (or update the Adobe software) in this case.
