How Many People want to run a 24/7 Scheduled Automated Broadcast Channel?

I know that the majority of use for OBS is more real time oriented, advanced scene switcher, great plugins, super community support. There are a few of us that want to run a 24/7 channel with pre-recorded material. This material may be education ,sports, music, local events, town meetings, mood music, public community access, etc. The problem becomes many fold. The idea for a channel , having the necessary content to have a variety of shows , enough to keep your channel viewed and most important , software to run a automated scheduled channel.

I've been active on the "automate 24/7 Stream for a scheduled playlist" thread, which is over 6 years old. But people come and go over that period of time and sure, new people can search and find matches, but I want this to an active thread by people right now that want to run 24/7.

To keep this legal, lets assume that the solution uses OBS in some form.

So for people with a passion, lets talk about projects, streams, where to stream to, show design, playout vs scheduled, sharing, networking etc. This is a forum for new (or old ) ideas, and would be of interest to both creators and actual stations that might want a new solution.

So what does everyone think?

It was one of my proposals seem year ago. And I hoped they could include it natively.
I silently follow you in your project and I love it.
But i see here Devs seem to pay more attention to gamers ... so let's say I gave up a bit :-/

Hi Tormy. I do remember you. I just kept at it until it's pretty good now. I think I need one more round of beta testing. (I'm talking about my app for you who do not know me.) Here is a quick youtube video on how to program a months worth of scheduling in under an hour.

You are welcome to give it a try if still interested.

I think the desire to do 24/7 has a lot to do with (HAVING ENOUGH) content. If you record sport events, or church services or want to run a specialty channel, you would have enough variety to not repeat yourself too often. And basically, you need a renewing source.

There is a little bit of "DJ" in that you want people to follow you because what you stream reflects their interests.

Also, the idea of shows happening at specific times appeals to a lot of people.

The video is a little corny at the start. I was trying to make it more interesting with a voice over. I need a lot more practice.

I looked at the youtube dashboard for the video and LOL, I don't think most people liked the corny start. There were a few people that watched the whole thing. So no more corny intros. For those that watched to the end, thank you. Please take a moment and comment here.

So, why aren't there a thousand streaming 24/7 obs channels streaming everyday. There are certainly a lot of smart, inventive people on the forum. Simply , (my opinion), it breaks down to interest, experience, desire, goals, business, money, solutions, challenge, education, means and content. There may be more, people do things for a lot of reasons.

Means and content are easy to understand. Do you have a tool that allows you to do 24/7 EASILY and do you have enough content to not repeat yourself, i.e. variety. Means break down to cost, learning curve, can do what you want, features , fit, your bandwidth. Most people do not need or want a full blown tv station.

I think we all need to thank the "GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY" people, the OBS software developers, the language translators, the people creating new resources , the forum moderators and the people that take time out to help others. OBS is a community.
