Question / Help How do you know when OBS is recording?

Having a problem with recording and file destination and knowing what to look for that indicates it is recording would help out.
 
  1. REC: 00:00:12 - timer at OBS Studio status bar (it counts when you are recording).
  2. Button's name: 'Stop Recording' (changed from 'Start Recording').
  3. The red dot over OBS Studio tray icon (both for streaming and recording; tray icon enabled in settings).
  4. The video file of the recording that is growing in size... (some recordings you can preview, but this is other story)
That's all for now. Maybe later you'll see other indicators (depends on development).

theres no way to tell if you are in gametho? Like in a full screen game I cant tell. something like what Shadow play had would be cool with overlay and the green dot came on when recording.... my memory in poor and sometimes I cant remember if I am recording or not since sometimes I pause while doing boring things.
 
My solution was in "Notification Area" settings on my PC. I selected OBS as an icon to appear on the taskbar. Now when I am recording in OBS, the icon reflects this status with a red dot.
