Question / Help How do you get Audio PS4 - OBS

Hey,

I'm pretty new to all of this so unsure on how to get things set up.

Originally I was trying to stream through OBS via video capture and PS4 remote play. I found this method had MAJOR lag while streaming so switched over to display capture which works perfectly. My only issue here is I no longer have sound being streamed from the PS4 or party chats.

I'm currently using a Turtle Beach Stealth 600 headset until I can afford additional equipment later down the line.

How do I get sound from the PS4 + party chat through to OBS using my chosen method?

Thanks in advance ;-)

You'll need software to create a virtual audio device to use as your default audio device so that OBS can capture it. Examples are iShowUCapture, SoundFlower, and LoopBack.

Then you'll either need to set OBS audio monitoring on in Settings > Advanced and set the devices you want to monitor in Advanced Audio Properties, or use other software (LineIn or LoopBack) to forward audio from the virtual device to your headset.

How does it work exactely? Can I use an usb or AUx headphone to either ps4 or controller and still both hear gameplay and party chat AND make obs Pick up all audio (gameplay and party chat)?

You can buy a cheap HDMI splitter that will seperate the audio from the video coming from the capture device. You will need a USB audio mixer to go between the splitter and the mac.
PROS: fine tune all of your audio on the mixer and not deal with the mac settings in OBS.
CONS: more hardware and cables and money spent.
