How do you capture Inner Window on OBS Studio?

OBS Classic... Browser open, say a dozen tabs. Choose Inner Window and all it sees it the inner window not the tabs.

OBS Studio... Browser open, say a dozen tabs. I see everything (all tabs) and cannot find any setting which says "Inner Window like classic has.

How I can use OBS Studio to capture the inner window, quickly and easily like Classic can?

OBS Studio window capture always does inner window. In chrome there is only an inner window.

I guess my chrome is different.. I created the Test Window capture specifically for this screen cap... when I added the Source OBS added the number 1.

Anyone? The "showing tabs" thing and not just the inner window isn't just something I experience in Chrome, my Notetab app also does it.

Is there a setting somewhere, where I can choose inner window? Is there something I need to change in a file that tells it to choose inner window, because I am not getting any inner window action at all, just the entire thing no matter which application I run that has windows and tabs - as my screen cap shows.

Don't use windows capture. use/add BrowserSource.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Where do I find this Browser thing? When I click to add a Source my options are...

Image
Media Source
Text (Free type 2)
Display Capture
Windows Capture
Game Capture
Video Capture Device
Audio In Capture
Audio Out Capture

No Browser option.

EDIT: nvm... found the new update has a Browser option as part of it now. DLing. TY.

ok.... so it seems it is a URL reader and not a Browser reader. I still cannot choose Inner Window and have it be whatever tab I have selected, I have to enter a url and it reads what is there, not where I have scrolled on my own browser.

Classic has Inner Window option for whatever application I want. Please let me know.... can I do the same in OBS Studio?

Osiris says WIndow Capture does inner window... my screen cap says otherwise with no Option to choose inner window.
Browser plugin needs a URL to show what is there... which isn't necessarily how I am scrolling the page but what the top of the page looks like at the URL. Not conducive for changing what is seen/streamed/recorded just by changing tabs.

All I want is inner window. If Studio cannot do it, fine, I will use Classic for that. But if it can, please ELI5 because I am obviously not "getting" it.

I just tested the obs 0.657b with clr browser and that also shows the tabs of chrome so that you say that it doesn't do that with your installation surprises me.

OBS Studio window capture always does inner window. In chrome there is only an inner window.

Basicly OBS studio wil ALWAYS capturing the inner window. Chrome's tabs are part of the inner window of chrome. (from what i understand what Osiris has posted)
You could crop it with a filter or with <alt> dragging. or just use F11(in chrome) if you want to fullscreen chrome i guess.

So just to help @MisterClash not think he is going mad I also see the same problem, Windows Capture on Chrome always shows tabs.

It does look like Chrome exposes an "inner window" called document which most other Windows applications expose as well but for some reason it's not being captured.

I don't know why this is to be honest, I checked on OBS Classic and it shows the same behaviour.

Ah... I just checked my Classic.... seems so long ago now I'd set it up....

Appears I had chose Inner Window and Then choose Select Region and essentially cropped out the tabs. So long ago I'd forgotten. Only just realised when I went unselecting everything and the tabs became Revealed again. Noticed the Select Region and got it back to what I had so long ago made adjustments for.

Seems I was mistaking my forgotten cropping while only seeing the Inner Window selected and thinking That was it.

So, only solution is somehow Crop Out the tabs. Cool. Now to figure out how to do that in Studio.

Feel like a doofus now :p

Thank you for the help you offered Greendweller, Adrian and Osiris.
