Question / Help How do I deinterlace video on OBS for Mac?

I am capturing my Canon HV with my Blackmagic intensity Pro card. The video is there, but because the feed is is 59.94 interlaced, it is squiggly in OBS. On the PC version, it is fixed when i set the OBS project to 30fps, but in Mac OBS, even at 30fps, it has the interlaced squiggly look. How fix? thanks

Still isn't available, but will be hopefully some time within the next few patches. We have filtering in so that was the biggest hurdle for it, now we just need the actual deinterlacing filter.

There may be workarounds for the time being, but unfortunately I still have to make that one wait a bit longer before I can get time for it.

I am waiting for this feature as well, since interlaced streams are virtually unwatchable.

Thank you for your hard work though, Jim

I solved it. At least on my camera (canon hv30), if you set the record format to 1080p30, it does something to the hdmi output feed. The feed remains 1080i60 but obs sees it as deinterlaced 30fps.

Do you know how far out we are from de-interlacing on the multiplatform mac version? Thanks for your great work on this product. Incredible!

There were some hurdles that caused deinterlacing to be pushed back, as you obviously can tell it wasn't in 0.11.0. I think it's currently now planned for 0.12.0, which is still at least a few weeks away.

It did not make it in, it was pushed back due to some technical setbacks. It's currently scheduled for 0.13.0.

Did it make it into 0.13.0 or 0.13.1, cos I can't find it? If not, what's it ETA? Thanks for all the work you awesome coders do!

Unfortunately it was pushed back again to 0.14.0, but it will be one of the main parts of 0.14.0 to be worked on, so it shouldn't be pushed back again.

This is the one feature I need to put OBS and Linux into production at our venue. I am willing to put up a small bounty for this, especially if it will help push it to the top of the list / not get delayed again. We are using a Blackmagic Mini Recorder, and the camera is putting out a 1080i59.94 signal, which is working flawlessly. All I need is the ability to deinterlace that into a 720p canvas.

Yes, it was added in 0.14.0. Right click on the source you want to deinterlace, and you should see the option there.
