Question / Help How do I add space between scrolling text?

I scroll my recent followers and donations on my overlay, and I access a UTF file that updates with my most recent follow and donors.

I am moving to OBS studio, and I cant figure out how to add spaces between the scrolling names. I have attached a picture to this thread.

For the recent follow, I need several spaces between the "8" and the "F" and for the donations I need spaces between the "0" and the "L". I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, what filter did you apply to make the text do that? o_o I've figured out how to add a space but it's atrocious for dynamically updated text files...

I'm having the same problem trying to have my "now playing" song scrolling on my screen. The artist and song name just mash together when they scroll and I cannot figure out how to add a space. Anyone know?

The issue is the same no matter where you add scrolling text, it just merges in together, I tried editing the actual doc itself but next song it updates it just does the same thing. Anyone any solutions?

I use SNIP to display artist/track title information using the older version of OBS, this solution may or may not be applicable to the not-entirely-functional Studio version.

In the text properties window, I check "Use Custom Text Extents" and set the width to something VERY wide (I play a fair amount of classical music, and some of the track titles are laughably long) and the height to some arbitrary number, ensuring that the "Font Size" is something that will allow upper and lower case characters to fit within the designated area.

In my case I have set the width to 2200 and the height to 100, the font size is 60 with a scroll speed of 150. These settings may not be helpful for the OP, but this MIGHT help out RADRaze2KX and C9Dan.

Please examine the attached screen shot for my exact settings.

Yea, unfortunately OBS Studio doesn't have this same property window... not sure why the devs have neglected this portion of the scrolling text feature... can we get an update on this?

@Knightfall Im pretty sure i just salved your issue. Do you use TwitchAlerts/StreamLabs/Streamlabels for the scrolling text stuff? I had the same problem but then i realized all i had to do was change the way "Streamlabs" output the new follower text file instead of editing the already output file in the folder. Download the streamlabs/streamlabels (https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/streamlabels) small program if you havent already. Go to "File settings" then pick the one you want (i.e. most_recent_follower) Notice the output format starts with a bracket symbol { . In order to tell Stream labels you need space before and after your stuff, just insert a few hits/clicks of the space bar directly before the first { bracket symbol and hit save. No Need to put any space bar hits at the end of the line because inserting the beginning ones should take care of that and give you enough room where you need it. For the Donation one you can put additional spaces inbetween if you want to.

Heres what i did so you get the idea.
