Question / Help How could I record without needing to be on the desktop? Like on the lock screen?

So, I'm wondering if I could record my computer without the requirement of being logged on, such as recording my lock screen. I'm on Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows is activated if that helps.

I am not sure if OBS-Studio could capture lock screen, but it definitely won't capture window restarts or... the blue screen of death (BSOD).

Option 1: Download a free VirtualBox software or other virtual machine software, and install windows inside VirtualBox. Let OBS-Studio capture VirtualBox.

Option 2: use a separate computer with a capture card.

I just tried because I needed it,
on Win 10, obs manages to record the lock screen. I don't know if it's the same on Win 8 but try.

Start recording of the main screen.
Windows + L key to lock the screen, unlock, and notice that OBS has logged everything

As previously mentioned by sam686, for reboots and shutdowns it is impossible
