High GPU Usage during streaming (up to 50% GPU)

Hi All,

This may not be an issue with OBS at all, but I'm looking to understand why. OBS when streaming can use as much as 50% GPU (highest I've seen it so far, could get higher).

I am currently using NVENC with a 2080 Ti and an i9-9900k. Here's a link to the log files. I'm currently seeing this with Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, but I have seen it with Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019). I don't tend to check with other games, but I may do in the future.

I do have Display Capture as well as Window Capture, but Display Capture is turned off (using the eye icon) whenever a game supports Window Capture (or vice-versa), I'll never leave both enabled.

Could anyone shed any light on this?

1. Run OBS as admin
2. Display and Game Capture Sources interfere with each other. Never put them in the same scene.
3. Uncheck box Psycho Visual Tuning, this causes increased GPU utilization.

Hi qhobbes,

Thanks for the reply. I've started OBS as Administrator and completely removed Display Capture whilst I have Windows Capture. I've also tried with and without 'Psycho Visual Tuning' and it made no difference to GPU usage (it peaked at 65% with and without it enabled).
