Question / Help High Encode w/ Avermedia LGP2

Hello everyone!

I just got a LGP2 and was pretty excited. I've wanted to try a 2-pc set up for a while, everyone told me the hassles of the audio issues. Not for me though, no audio issues here, just high encoding.

I'm getting high encoding on OBS with NOTHING but the video capture in a scene. (Fresh install of Win 10 w/ bloatware and everything removed, Fresh OBS install.) It will run fine for a few seconds and then it will hit heavy encoding. The pc specs are,

AMD FX 61000 3.3ghz
8g DDR3 1333mhz
AMD RX 470 4gig.

The issue is there no matter what I do. I can run it in 480p 30 fps and it can't do it, I know the cpu can. I had a 4100 that I used to stream 480-60 on while gaming. It could even do 720-30 depending on the game.

Now I'm doing nothing on the pc no background stuff at all. Just obs and a capture card. No matter the encoding settings nothing works. I've tried using AMD's encoder, everything. I'm out of options now other then shelling out for a new cpu and mobo. I just feel very strongly this should be able to do the task at some level.

Any advice would be lovely! Let me know what to do for you guys. Just high encoding nothing else.

That's fine tell me what to do then and we can see. I don't see how the CPU can be overloaded at 480p30fps. I've done that with worse CPU's and while playing said game like WoW for example. I ran it at 480p and it still had high encoding. Every single thing mentioned in the thread you linked I have not only seen in the past but I did every single thing.

I tried super fast, nothing. I tried a super low resolution with low frame rate, nothing. As I said I tried using AMD's encoder, different issues but still not doable no matter what, runs worse.

And before it's brought up I also set the priority higher, every setting in fact. Obviously I can't upload the hundreds of logs of different settings I've tried but believe me when I say I've looked.
