Question / Help High CPU Usage ?

Getting back into broadcasting, using the latest version of OBS Studio.

1080p @ 30fps
i7-4970K @ 4.0Ghz
Elgato HD60 Pro
Logitech webcam C920
Bitrate 2500

Streaming PS4 with a real basic stream.. no alerts or anything.

CPU is just getting demolished. I built this PC specifically for streaming, there is nothing installed but OBS and Elgato programs.

Any help is appreciated. I've used these settings on this PC prior to rebuild as well. 40-50% CPU was usually the max.

You had skipped/lagged frames on your first attempt at 1080p@30f. Your next attempt had no skipped/lagged frames at 720p@30f. Do you have a problem staying at that resolution/framerate? If not, then you seem to have found your solution.

If you're still having issues that weren't apparently in the log...
How are your CPU temps? Have you tried the 64-bit OBS Studio (if you have a 64-bit OS) to see if that performs any differently?

Yeah I do have a problem staying at 720p. 1080p used to work just fine, I was curious about the 64 bit as well. I will give that a shot. CPU temps are fine.

More than anything I want to know what changed to make the CPU usage increase by such a large factor. OBS used to be far more lightweight, I am also going to do some tests with OBS classic to see if there is any difference.
