Question / Help High CPU Usage on webcam obs..

Ok so before I get started explaining my issue, here are my specs and my routine.

PC Specs:
Intel Core i5-4690 CPU @3.50GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
16gb corsair vengeance ram
MSI Z97 Motherboard (if relevant)

Recording Items:
AVerMedia Live Gamer HD Capture Card (Which I ALWAYS have selected on obs for my gameplay)
Blue Yeti Mic
HD Pro Webcam C920

Problem:

I usually run 2 obs, 1 for my webcam and mic and the other for my gameplay which I select the avermedia card as my display. The reason I use 2 is so I can edit my webcam separately from my gameplay and I love OBS Green screen keyer more than sony vegas. The issue is my webcam OBS is using too much cpu and my Avermedia OBS is using about half of it. I just tested this out earlier today on a slower encoding preset (Faster). I have tried everything I have read up on and I cant find a solution. I even brought the resolution down to 720p.
This issue is on and off and isnt consistent but it is quite annoying when it decides to happen. My gameplay doesnt lag but when I play back my recording. EVERYTHING lags. I monitored the CPU usage during my gameplay last night and it was consistently using 90-100% of my CPU. My AVerMedia OBS window was using 22% cpu and my webcam obs window was using 38% CPU usage. I thought capture cards took the load off of the cpu usage?

In previous gameplay recordings my cpu usage has been between 11% - 20% on both windows... and randomly without changing anything, my obs starts using WAY more CPU than it usually does.

The log you guys see is of earlier today and I will gladly show you guys the rest of the logs if needed but there is a maximum of 1mb upload.

So two things

1) capture cards don't help with cpu utilisation at all as the cpu still has to do the encoding
2) You set one of your OBS windows to use Faster, this is going to take more cpu.

I'm not 100% sure what you are doing here if I am honest but if everything is running on one machine you have your game and two versions of x264 running on the same CPU which is not going to be great. Try setting your cpu preset to ultrafast everywhere and see if that helps.

You have fixed my issue haha. I guess I misinterpreted the "higher = less cpu" so I was making my situation worse than better. Thank you and now I understand.
