Question / Help High CPU Usage in the last few days

Hello,

Recently, I've updated my OBS Studio to the last version and suddenly it started to use like 35-40% of my CPU, which is really strange and high, it causes my CPU to go 95%+ all the time I'm playing and streaming.

I've tried to use older version of OBS Studio but it still uses a lot of CPU, it used to be like 15-20% max and now it never goes under 30%.

Any Ideas ? I'm using OBS Studio x64 version

Thanks.

Same here and no idea.. I'm with i7 6700k overclocked to 4.2GHz and still getting 35%+ like 90% of the time, nothing works, tried reinstalling, using older versions, switching even to superfast preset and still the same...

Nothing has changed in 18.0.2 regarding CPU usage. The changes were extremely minor in order to support Windows 10 Creator's Update. It's possible something else on your system is causing this.

I don't think this is on my end if i stream from xsplit its working just fine on the medium preset, but with OBS studio i cant stream on this preset anymore.

Im not the only 4790k user having trouble i have my processor clocked at 4.6ghz and its customed water cooled at 29C even under load.

Something seriously is wrong i dont think this is on my end...

I have the new windows creator update installed so I updated to OBS 18.0.2, and i disabled optimize fullscreen application.

OBS is taking up more CPU than usual lately.
