high cpu usage and created video is useless with latest update

we updated to the latest OBS and had to revert to version 27.1.3 to be able to use OBS again. the produced video was simply dreadful, with the picture sticking, dropped audio, dropped video.

so, I reverted to version 27.1.3 and there were no issues.

we've now tried updating to the very latest OBS, again, and have exactly the same problem as before. so, again, i've had to revert to version 27.1.3 which works flawlessly.

what is wrong with the update that is causing this? do i need to simply stick with 27.1.3? or is there something i can do to sort the issue out?

Looks like it comes from droid cam

i'm just amazed how you work that out! thank you!!

do you know if there is anything I can do about it? this suggests it is a conflict between the latest OBS patch and Droidcam, as both have worked flawlessly up to this point.

Many thanks

Hi, would you mind providing some details as to how/why you concluded it comes from DroidCam?
In the above logs everything looks clean, the plugin loads and stops without issue.

This looks more related to the following issue

hi,

so after much frustration i've finally corrected the issue of totally unusable video when recording, with the latest OBS patch - 27.2.3. it was, indeed, an OBS issue, and not a droidcam issue.

through a bunch of desperate messing about (because I really wanted to keep OBS up to date) we've got OBS working again, and our solution is below. we can record at 60fps if so choose, as well as 30 (which is how we normally record: 30 fps, 1920 x 1080).

The solution we've used (or perhaps it is more of a work around) is as follows:

1. open 'settings'
2. select 'output'
3. select the 'recording' tab (need to have set output mode to "advanced" at the top)
4. deselect "rescale output"
5. deselect "look ahead"
6. set max b-frames to "2" (ours was previously set at 4)

and all good here
