Hi guys, I need some help understanding how is OBS killing my games when recording or Streaming with Nvidia NVEC on this new version (25.0.8).

I can see that OBS is using 15% to 35% of CPU and 8% to 20% of GPU while is not recording or Streaming, this numbers increase when working.

GTX 1070 / i7 5820K / 16 Gb RAM

I would like to know if I can check what was my last OBS Version to roll back in case that no one can help me.

Thank`s.

You have a very large number of media sources active, these will each consume resources for decoding. Consider using only the ones you actually need. You also have a lot of monitor capture sources which are not great for performance.

I would suggest creating a new scene collection and building up with only the assets you need as your current scenes are very complex. You could also run OBS as admin which allows it to allocate more GPU resources to itself to prevent frame lag.

Sure, I know that I have a lot of Media Sources etc but I was ok with them (performance) in my last version. I think something changed and I would like to find it.

Do you know how can I check what was my last version?

Do you know if I can have 2 differents versions of OBS at the same time? One for working and the other to test updates before I change my main version.

ok CPU is not part of problem in my case, my OBS GPU ussage goes 80% while encoding at 60fps 720p 3800kbps. It happens after some time, I was monitoring temps, temps was fine... GPU is rtx 2060... I lower down to 720p 30fps 2500kbps and there was very small improvement, 50% of GPU but game stutter same way... It happens after hour and half aprox.

I'm experiencing the same issues as @ttv/cro_dr3ad. I'm using a 1050ti to stream 720p/60fps on a laptop, and I'm running into issues I didn't have before including high CPU usage. I'm using NVENC to encode from my second monitor, and OBS is running on my Intel uhd 630 . Could NVIDIA have changes something on their end with the last version? I tried clean installing older versions of OBS. While it helped initially, the issue showed up again as I continued to stream. I'm not even playing a resource hungry game. It's HITMAN: Codename 47 from 2000.

MAC users are also reporting these problems - https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...t-macs-unusable-with-catalina-10-15-4.121667/

**NOTE** There was already a bug report for this issue on the MAC side - https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/2841
