HELP

i have just started using OBS.........long story short idk what im doing here........the quality is so choppy and terrible.....ive change the bitrate SO MANY TIMES i just want better Qualtiy pls! btw i have a core i5 .........i dont have any graphics card so for the encoder its on...QuickSync H. 264 im using this for recording clips while i play games so can someone pls help?

waiting for responses. i use a Asus Laptop... i have tried to do 3000-20000 kbps and still it doesnt fix the quality.....HELP

Use Tools / Auto Config. You should not be using bitrate for recording in the first place.

wait what? i watched a bunch of yt videos for when u wanna record stuff and they said..............omg........really.......well lemme try that

99.9% of YouTube "best settings" guides are complete crap being parroted by people who don't know what they're doing.
wait can u elaborate ....tools? i dont see a tools/auto config section......
It's at the top of the main OBS window. File, View, Profile, Scene Collection, Tools. Topmost option should be Auto-Configuration Wizard.

Also, never record directly to mp4. It's not a recording-safe format. If ANYTHING goes wrong during recording or finalization, the entire recording will be unrecoverably corrupted. On top of that, video editors tend to not like the mp4 files OBS creates directly anyway. Record to MKV and use the 'remux recordings' option under the File menu to convert them after the recording is completed.

I AM PRETTY SURE i put it on the recording setting when i started what?????? okay well im facing another problem.... which is why i think it didnt put it on the record programming before also..........anyway it wont let me 'Apply settings' it just closes the window with no changes...this sux. To elaborate i mean once i press apply setting it does nothing..not that it closes once im there
