OBS Help

Hello fellow OBS users, I am a new user of the OBS multiplatform program for Mac OSX. I have a few problems regarding the sizing of the window capture feature, when it comes to recording a single window(i.e; minecraft, data).

When I try to record Minecraft by itself using window capture, I find it hard to crop the window without having any black bars or showing the top where it says Minecraft and has the exit, minimize, and maximize button. I want to record Minecraft while it is in a smaller window, not by recording the whole screen. When I crop the recorder over Minecraft without having black bars/top bar showing, I can’t get it to the full minecraft game screen without having to zoom into the game screen more than I like, not being able to show the full game prospective. I hope you all understand what I mean.

Any help guys? I would really appreciate some feedback and help.

As a fellow minecraftian, let me give you some advice.

First, I'm assuming you do not have a retina display.
If you do have a retina display, get the free version of Display Menu from the app store. Use that to select a resolution, and it disables the retina pixel doubling.

Then, tell OBS that you want a broadcast size of 854x480. Use display capture (not window capture), and drag the screen around to put the minecraft window into the viewport.

This works fine for me. Display capture will capture your cursor as well (so when you are in the inventory/etc, the viewers will see what you are doing.)
