Ugh, I feel so stupid !! I downloaded OBS on another machine & it installed beautifully. However, that PC was not even close to being up to the task of quality streaming.
So, I went out, bought a new wiz-bang PC to stream. But, when I downloaded OBS Studio I can not for the life get it to work for Me (open) I keep getting the same default mssg about couldn't capture video plug in?
Now I wasn't lazy & checked the help page before asking here and I checked My video card & it's plenty adequate.
Help !?! I'm stumped? I am supposed to launch a brand new streaming program Sunday night. I'm on a WIn7 (all updated machine) thank you for your help ! :)

I found a related thread but those people are speaking way above My head...I know just enough about computers to be dangerous.

Hi Edward, I don't want to worry you but that is the same error I get when trying to start OBS Studio on my laptop which doesn't have the right CPU/GPU for OBS to work. What CPU and GPU do you have in the machine can you share the specifications with us?

To help us confirm that is the case can you do the following. Right click Start and select Run. In the box type %appdata% and press return. A folder will open, scroll down to obs-studio and in there go into the logs folder. Post any one of these files to the forum using the Upload a File button under the post.

That log confirms it there was no graphics card found by OBS - do you know what graphics card you have installed if any? If you are relying on the on-CPU graphics card then you are probably out of luck with this machine as it's not detected.

Someone who knows better than me might be able to confirm but from what I can see your PC doesn't have enough graphics power for OBS to start :-( If I can find the minimum requirements I'll let you know.
