Help with USB WebCam

Hi. Sorry of this is a newbie question. I have installed OBS on Mac OS Sequoia (15.6.1). It's an Apple M1 chip machine. I have a super standard USB WebCam attached to the machine and that WebCam works just fine. I have also given OBS all the permissions you can imagine :). But for some reason, I cannot find the camera when I go to add a Source. Just doesn't show up anywhere. I have tried installing the Apple CPU and Intel CPU versions. Doesn't show up in either. Any guidance, MOST appreciated!

Hi Alex,
It sounds like your Mac isn’t giving OBS the correct camera permissions.
Try this:

1. Go to: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
2. Make sure OBS is enabled in the list.
3. Also check: Settings → Privacy & Security → Files & Folders → OBS
4. Restart OBS after enabling permissions.
5. If it still doesn’t show, try:

Unplug and reconnect the webcam

Try a different USB port

Create a new video capture source in OBS

If none of that works, it might be a compatibility issue with your webcam’s driver on macOS Sequoia.

Thanks so much for your response. A few things:
1. I am using the "Apple CPU" (M1) version. Hope that's ok.
2. Settings → Privacy & Security → Files & Folders → OBS does not list "OBS" but I don't know how to get it added. There's no "+" or anything
3. Should this be the same for a USB camera as for the MacBook Pro Built-In Camera? Because that also doesn't show up
4. I should be finding the cameras in OBC under "Video Capture Device," right?
