Question / Help Help with setup.

Hey guys! Started streaming last week and I'm enjoying it so far. I'm no tech guy so I need help with settings.

Let me link my setup first. (I've read guides on the internet but I'm still confused.)

  • Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
  • Memory: 8192MB RAM
  • Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
  • Current Mode: 1680 x 1050 (32 bit) (60Hz)
  • Native Mode: 1680 x 1050(p) (59.883Hz)
  • 1MB upload (I know it's horrible).
My problem is that I've been trying to stream a PS2 game (Xenosaga Part 1) and whenever I check my own stream to see how it looks, it's SUPER blurry!

I saw people streaming games like Waframe with the same rig as I have right now and while it was not super crispy clean, it was much better than I can get with a PS2 game. So what am I doing wrong? My settings look like this now:

I'd appreciate some help to make things as optimal as possible for now since I can't afford new parts for my PC.

Yep you are probably right, it looks like you don't have enough bandwidth for decent resolution/quality. Have you tried the Auto Configuration wizard?

1Mbps/upload isn't going to cut it when it comes to streaming.

You need to go upgrade your Internet Service to a higher upload speed of at least 5Mbps and preferably 10Mbps or more.

Tools, Auto-Configuration Wizard. This will give you some settings which would enable you to stream but the quality/resolution is not going to be great as it'll be limited by your upload bandwidth

I THINK I'll be able to upgrade my internet today. My ISP came up with a good deal... If that is the case, is 6MB Upload any good?

Yep 6Mb upload should allow you to have a decent stream, there are no guarantees though, where is your nearest Twitch server and are you nearby? If you are in a different country then the quality of the connection to Twitch tends to be poor and so you could still have problems.

I live in Brazil. We do have our own server here. Should I be using that one?

Yes use the Brazil server. Like I say no guarantee that 6mbps will give you a solid connection, just bear that in mind as you are thinking about paying for better broadband
