Hello all,
I really want to start streaming but I cannot seem to find an easy solution for myself.
What I do:
I currently love playing fortnite.
I play on a 1440p 144hz monitor and love it, this will impact how I stream...I also recently purchased a new pc like last year so I'm hesitant on purchasing more parts at the moment. I also like to play my game on 150-200fps.
My Equipment: (Also I purchased an El Gato HD60 Pro)
Gaming PC: I7 7700k GTX 1080 ftw Nice 1tb solid state m.2 H100i liquid cooler mobo etc.... Asus ROG Swift PG278Q 27-Inch WQHD G-SYNC LED Gaming Monitor
Streaming PC: 1080p ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor GTX 780 I7 3770k regular solid state drive
Can I make use of my second older pc at all? Are there options for me?
Here's what I've researched so far:
Option 1: Some way in Nvidia control panel to change the settings and get it so I can play at my settings and record at another:
Result: Failure, I was unable to use resolution 1440p and keep the hertz at 144...
Option 2: Project on main pc, and take the projection into El Gato and capture that in the streaming PC.
Result: Partial failure. I was able to actually see the 1080p stream on my projection stream, but I had no sound and couldn't get the stream figured out. If anyone is familiar with this and could help that would be great.
Option 3: Stream without a capture card.
NGINX Server streaming
Or some RTMP server thing.
Results: I have not tried, i'm unsure how to properly set it up. I think i'll try it next, would it work with my setup and the difficulty seemed kind of hard. Ill watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jROntrxj5-E
Option 4: Purchase a new PC, buy El gato 4k60 pro card, install in current pc and stream with this PC and game with a brand new pc.
Result: Should be a success, but the cost will be 3-4k for me to purchase some nice parts for a new gaming rig.
Option 5: I heard you can try either Shadowplay or quicksync or something.
