Hi all. Brand new to OBS. Very much a newbie. I've watched some tutorials on youtube to get up and running. Working on a iMac. I'm wanting to record video material from a portion of my browser screen. The good news is I can get it to work. The only trouble is, in the saved file the video is choppy during playback, so I'm sure I've got some of the settings wrong. I've tried MKV and MP4. Can someone please direct me to a tutorial or website which might help me with this issue? Here's my info: Desktop iMac OS Mojave 10.14.6, 4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB memory MHz DDR3; OBS Studio 25.0.7 (64 bit)
Thanks a million!

On a Mac, I think you'll find that you get better results recording the screen, rather than a browser window. You can still crop and accomplish the same thing. I would also make sure that you are using the HT video encoder for streaming (if that's happening) and for recording.

Thanks. I did a screen record and it seemed to work better however I only captured a portion of my screen. So I still have some unresolved problem (probably settings, I imagine). Could this be a resolution issue? Thanks for your help!

You may need to transform that capture window to "fit to screen". You may also want to crop portions of it if you don't want it all

I didn't know about the fit to screen option. I don't want to get too excited yet, but I think this may just be the answer. I can not tell you how much I appreciate your help! Thanks!!
