help with recordings being laggy

hi could i get some help or advise I'm trying to record playthroughs of games to add to youtube but when i record the videos come out laggy and slow is it maybe my hardware or the settings i have on obs im still new to this trying to figure it all out any help would be greatly apricated

Probably you can't go over 1080p
Anyway, run the Auto-configuration Wizard (toold menu) and apply the settings it gives. Do NOT change a thing.
Restart OBS (!very important)
Now test as is.
If all goes well, you're done. Now you can test changing the quality presets for a better quality.

Enable Windows Game Mode because it helps

hi thank you for the quick response ive tried all mention above but the recording still comes out very slow still sadly ive noticed the seconds when recording skip numbers like 3 to 6

The log shows a flawless recording. Try VLC as media player to check the recording. The integrated Windows media player has issues.
