Hello Guys,

I try to find the best settings for my stream, but everything i find on the Forum is not the Optimal setting i need.

If i use NVENC you can see pixels moving slow when i move around ingame (looks blurry somehow), see: https://www.twitch.tv/rowtag/v/56971980

Then i saw a thread where a mod says you can use quicksync.. rofl this looks freaky.. holy: https://www.twitch.tv/rowtag/v/56982934

x264 link:
https://www.twitch.tv/rowtag/v/56988216

Somehow, it's always only bad when moving around.

Maybe is there another Problem i have?

I have a Asus ROG Swift Monitor (2560x1440 / 144Hz), do i maybe need to run on lower Hz?

My Rig:

i7-6700K - 4.0 GHz
16GB RAM
Asus GTX TITAN (With HydroCopper Rom from EVGA)
System tuned and watercooled

My OBS Studio settings:

My Connection:

1Gbps Up and Down (Fiber)

Normally in BF4 i have 80 - 90 FPS ingame.

So where is the problem? Does anyone know what i have to change?

Latest Debug Log QuickSync: http://pastebin.com/sAvnHbUf

DebugLog x264: http://pastebin.com/JJr27FRu

Thanks for any help

You might need to take the x264 preset to one slower sounding than veryfast in order to get the quality up.
nvenc typically needs 100% more bitrate compared to x264 veryfast in order to maintain picture quality.

Read through this reddit thread for hints about quality settings and video examples (view the videos offline, i.e. download and view them as opposed to just clicking on them and streaming).

Just a quick comment about your settings in general... as a non-partnered streamer you might consider reducing bitrate and/or fps from 60fps/3200kbps to something lower to prevent buffering for viewers. Now, you might say viewers never complained about buffering, but if viewers don't complain/comment on buffering, it is usually because they just leave and don't bother saying something.
Bottom line: viewers accept a lower quality but steady stream (even more so if they're on mobile) but stuttering/buffering stream equals unviewable and people will leave.

Thanks,

I did try: https://www.twitch.tv/rowtag/v/56998545 this is with "faster" not veryfast.

So it seems not better.... :(

I also tried an alternative (XSPLIT).. it seems that it gets more sharpness.. but why? :S settings are quite the same.
(I use adaptive CBR @ XSPLIT)

Thanks, hmm allright, so if you are not a partner, you lost :) no.. good tutorial.. so i'll go lower and check if its better.

1> adaptive CBR doesn't exist in OBS, so it by default can't be the same settings.
2> You might try other downscale filters
3> 60fps needs between 50% and 100% more bitrate than 30fps.
4> You may have an unrealistic expectation of picture quality for non-partnered streamers.

Harold.. nr. 4.. eh yes maybe, for me it was not clear what the difference between partnered and non partnered is. No i know it.

Problem is solved, with lower settings it works perfect. Thank you @Harold @ConstantFlux for your help!

Best,

Xsplit appears to have better quality, but also appears to massively duplicating frames, resulting in choppy 60 fps. OBS looks a lot smoother at 60 fps, although the quality isn't as good.

Video compression at constant bitrate have easier time compressing duplicate frames which may look like better quality, but choppy motion.

Can make OBS quality better by reducing frames per second (fps) down to 30. Try 30 fps?

EDIT: perhaps I took too much time to reply...
