Help with audio issues on PS5 and OBS 30.1.1

Hello,
Im looking to return to streaming (eventually) but to start, I am just setting everything up and making test recordings and the main problem is I am not getting any audio on the recordings during playback.
1st my setup - maybe a little unique and want to make sure this is not part of my problem, I play on a PS5 going to an dinosaur ElGato HD60s capture card which feeds back into a yamaha 5.1 receiver and out to a big screen TV (also a PS VR1 in the loop but mostly unused) and my now very old former gaming desktop Intel i7 and GTX770 GPU 16GB ram Win 10_x64 (intended to run the stream with) is across the room, so I'm having to use some very long HDMI cables, the recorded video looks good in OBS but no audio. And before anyone suggests to take the receiver out of the setup, I have thought of that but ultimately would be difficult and cause other problems, so I wanted to start here.

As a test, i setup a desktop window capture and played and recorded in OBS a YT video, and then did a playback and I do get the YT audio but still no PS5 audio.
I've tried it with and without the 2nd ps5 controller option (as a guest- quickplay) a video I found on the ElGato site about how PS5 disables audio over HDMI (linked below) ...I've tried it with and without a arctis wireless steel series headset (connected to the ps5) ...Audio works great thru the headset and the receiver, I would prefer w/o the headset but I'll determine that once I hear how everything sounds when working properly.
Using the 2nd controller method , I have a 3.5mm audio cable (aka elgato chat link) going from line port of the capture card, Y-split into the headphone jack of the 2nd controller and then into the line in port on the desktop.
When messing with this the other day, I thought I had it working but was getting the loud buzzing of a bad ground, so I added a ground loop isolater as I had to turn up the advanced audio settings to like 500% to see the audio bars moving , but after adding the isolater I got zero sound, so I have temporailly removed it and the buzzing hasnt come back, but now I'm not seeing the audio bars move anymore even at 500% volume.
Note: a couple of times when trying different settings, I would see the audio bars move into the red (like too loud) but as soon as I adjusted the volume down and back up the audio bars stopped moving, so it was like getting something for minute then stopped, maybe just some kind of interference, idk?

I have tried all of the different audio device options, but given my setup I would think it would be the "Line In" or "Line (ElGato Sound Capture)" under audio devices (see snip for my available options) OBS snip.PNG

I was thinking about since I get YT desktop audio recorded fine...maybe trying playstation remote play to my desktop and then capturing that window (hopefully with sound) but I was afraid that might cause excessive lag or be too much for this old pc to handle the remote play and eventually streaming?

For full info about what I am attempting my post references the following videos or OBS forums...

So is what I want to do possible or what am I doing wrong? Heres my log...
Thanks
KC
