So, I've been streaming on Facebook myself for live music shows for some time now. I have a pretty bloated Scene profile. Playing very large background videos (10 hour 8 gig video) with multiple filters (Greens screen) and doing plenty of multi-cam movement transitions during the stream. Zero Issues with lags or dropped frames.
I decided to help some others stream an online talk show / Podcast. Much smaller scene profile. However, I did incorporate NDI using Skype from 2 people (and of course myself). FYI - also used NDI virtual input to return feed to Skype. I did some small tests where this seemed to work.
Some helpful information:
I am using a Cat 6 direct to internet router connection just FYI.
I tested my internet speed at the finish of the stream to see where it was averaging. 349.9 Mbps download, and 10.9 Mbps upload.
During Stream, OBS displayed CPU between 30-35% which is actually pretty high compared to the usual 17-24% variance during my Music streams. (This may be the entire problem - Skype using too many resources?) I didn't notice any dropped frames during the stream. At least not in the OBS info panel.
I have had some issue with NDI before doing weird things, like locking up or laggy video. This seemed a little different in that other sources that weren't NDI were also laggy. As if the stream was laggy, or the entire OBS output. However, I couldn't see any lag inside OBS at the time of the stream. Only when viewing the Facebook Live stream after it was finished.
Any help diagnosing my log file from the experts would be greatly appreciated.
