Help. OBS IS SLOW ON MAC ALL OF A SUDDEN

Working with OBS on my Mac with BIG SUR used to be relatively simple until all of a sudden it started slowing down the entirety of my computer. Surfing the web, opening Microsoft Word, and just about everything else is virtually impossible when OBS is running, even when it is idle. What is the source of this issue? Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a way to get OBS to stop eating up my processor?

When it starts up, it works just fine. But after 20 minutes it just reverts back to eating up CPU. This is causing me severe problems, as my primary source of income is streaming. If anyone can help, please do so. Thanks.

Strangely enough i've experienced the same. In my case kernel_task was eating up all the cpu this seems to be related to sensor issue's (hot cpu). i9 Macbook Pro 2019. When stopping OBS it all returns to normal. After starting within a few minutes the same issue occurs.
