Help Needed...

Very new to this, so please be patient with me.

We are setting up a live stream to stream live sports games for a small college.

We have a MacBook Pro, a JVC 4K streaming camcorder, and a black magic recorder 3g.

We have downloaded the obs software and can see our black magic recorder showing up in sources, but when we click on it we still see no picture. I assume the settings from the camera or in OBS aren’t agreeing with each other.

I am very new to this and dont know where to begin. If anyone can guide me through this process it would be greatly appreciate. Thanks

Howdy! I had this problem for the longest time on Mac as well. Hopefully it is as simple of a fix for you as it was for me. When adding a new Video Capture Device Source, make sure to do the following:

1.) Go to your source window.

2.) Right click and select Add -> Video Capture Device.

3.) Select the device you plan on using (in this case, the camcorder)

4.) Uncheck "use preset" and select the resolution that the output of the camcorder is set to (if this doesn't work, then just use a preset and you can fix the resolution later).

5.) This step is where the problem was for me. Make sure the Frame Rate is set to "Simple FPS Values" and select the FPS that your camcorder output is set to (you will not receive video until you do this step).

6.) Click "OK" and you should be good to go!

Hopefully this helps! If there is a deeper issue than I may be able to help, but this is what worked for me!
