Right guys so I'm needing some expert help I run a live stream DJ platform and I was originally shooting with C920's but have been forced to upgrade the cameras due to lowlight capabilities.

This has meant me getting capture cards etc this is my equipment:
  • 2009 flashed 5.1 Mac Pro running 2 x 12 core - 3.46ghz xeons
  • GT120 512mb GPU
  • 46gb RAM
  • WI-FI Card
  • Bluetooth Card
  • Monitor is a ultrawide LG 25"
  • LUMIX G7
  • AverMedia LGP Lite
  • 2 x Pcie, 3.0 USB A cards
  • 1.4 HDMI cable from camera to Capture Card

issues are as follows:
  • I CAN'T get the capture card (AverMedia LGP Lite) to show up under (video capture device) at all.
  • I CAN get it to show up under (Game capture) whilst RECentral is running in the background, but when it shows up in the top left corner of the viewport its small, I go to stretch it and it disappears but leaves the red lines behind.
  • FPS is also super low like 10 FPS max, Im presuming that the GT120 card is dog shit and I need to upgrade. But at the same time its records perfect in RECentral.

I can't work out where the issue lies is aver media my equipment or OBS.
ANY HELP WOULD BE REALLY WELCOME!! :)

Does the Avermedia support MacOS? Does it show up as a video device under other standard software that supports video input, like FaceTime or Skype?

No it didn’t show up as a video device, that’s what I’m trying to sort out, I swear Iv seen these work as a video device on videos etc. Anyways....I had reasonable success through wirecast but not 100% far from. I really want OBS working. After days of frustration, It didn’t seem to be the tool for the job so Iv sold the Avermedia LGP and now I’m running the Magewell dongle which I know 100% they work, you pay for convenience ....... and still the scaling issue persists in OBS, it’s now picking it up in video devices but the image is pink fuzz like off an old tv, I think it’s to do with the GPU I don’t know what else it could be it’s the only part that is crap in the computer. so I have on order a gtx 680 4gb it needed updating from the 512mb gt120 anyways so might aswell cross that off the list.

Companies like Avermedia and Elgato sometimes supply only Windows device drivers and custom software. In this case they can only be used on MacOS with bundled software

Ye well either way I bit the bullet and purchased the correct tool for broadcasting, but for some reason the scaling issue persists. Iv got it working fine in Wirecast.
