Help! I can't get OBS to stream on youtube.

I've been shown two ways to stream on youtube and neither is working properly. Everything seems connected but when I activate stream it says it is streaming but it isn't showing up on my channel....before or after the attempt and it isn't showing up by using the link either. I have tried youtube HLS with just the stream key and by connecting the account....nothing. I have tried youtube rtmps and tried both ways with it....nothing. Please help. WE are trying to get our elementary school news going and keep hitting deadends.

Hello @Matthewlane: When you start streaming from OBS Studio, and (I assume) it looks OK and doesn't display an error message, have you looked at the YouTube Control Room for the stream? Can you tell if the stream is getting as far as YouTube, but just not going live? You can successfully stream to YouTube, but if it is not set to Auto-start, you will need to click Go live in the YouTube Control Room.
