Help for Web Cam Zoom

I hope someone can help me with setup. What does this mean? I am using an hdmi capture card connected to computer through usb and my Nikon D3100 digital camera is connected to in hdmi port. I am looking only to use as a web cam no live streaming. Is there something I am missing?

Found this on www.
In order to view live view via HDMI cable on your television or any other external monitor all you have to do is go into the menu on the camera and locate the HDMI section. In that section you have HDMI output quality and HDMI controls. simply turn off HDMI controls. and exit the menu.
