Question / Help Hello Noob here... I am thinking of buying 2950x/1080Ti rig

I am having trouble with my 1800x/1080 rig doing HQ game recording. I am recording a 30,000bps stream in .mp4 at 1440p, and it seems like my rig cannot keep up. If I spend the $3000 on a new rig, what can I expect as far as quality? I play in 4k and would like to be able to record in 4k, but I don't know if that is a bridge too far. I am really interested in image quality as I am making cinematic videos. Thanks if you can help me.

Any particular reason for limiting your bitrate to 30000kbps for local recordings?

I don't own a NVIDIA card at the moment so other people better acquainted with the brand can offer better advice.

For now, I recommend using NVENC encoder, changing "Rate Control" to CQP, set "CQP" setting to 15, select "High Quality" preset then post a log file of a recording session.

Also, change the recording format to either .mkv or .flv due to the fact the resulting files are still usable in case there's a crash or some other issues. MP4 always results in catastrophic loss of the entire recording when these occur. You can remux the recorded files to .mp4 by pressing File-->Remux Recordings, when you're done.
