HDMI video capture card showing colored lines.

I’m trying to connect my ps4 to my computer using a hdmi video capture card and an hdmi cable. No matter what I do, I cannot get any signal. It is just showing up as colored bars. I have gotten it to work before but I don’t remember how.

The colored bars are created by your capture card, so the connection between the capture card and the computer is ok. The issue is with the capture card not recognizing the input signal, which is not an OBS issue. Check cabling.

Look in the capture cards properties/driver, if there is a checkbox "test image", "color bars" osa. enabled.
And if not, rtfm (read the f...ine manual) if there's described if and when the capture card produces this test image.

I have used the same hdmi cable on my ps4 to my tv and it works perfectly fine. I even switched out that cable for a brand new hdmi cable.
